I'm going to rip off and replicate something I heard from my pastor Talk about in his sermon this morning. He was talking about the idea of decay and bringing something to life that has decayed over time, or has long since been dead.
Decay happens by default, but dreams happen by design. And I think when it comes to your second half success plan, whatever the goals are that still remain for you to achieve, you need to understand that this is something that you're going to have to be intentional about.
That you're going to have to design - actually think out and plan and create these steps that will take you from where you are to eventually want to be and whatever those achievements are in whatever area of life that you are looking to experience greater success in the second half.
Because if you do nothing, then decay is what is going to occur. You can see example of this in a number of different areas. A very clear one is that if you do nothing, health-wise, then decay is what's going to occur. Things are going to get worse. Your body will start to cease to function in the way that it normally would.
Now some of that's gonna happen just as a natural aging process. The older you get, the less functional certain parts of your body become, but there's a way to slow the decay. Probably not halt it, but there's a way to slow the decay. And that is to actually be intentional about doing things that promote health.
If you don't make certain improvements to your house or to your car or to your finances, if you do nothing in some of these areas, then by nature, they will naturally decay. They will naturally go worse. It's almost like you can't really coast.
You always need to be improving because default seems to be the default state of many things. So with that in mind, the counter to that is to do things by design. To be intentional about making progress, making changes, making improvements, seeing things occur in the way that you want them to. You've gotta do that by design.
And then you have to actually execute on those things. You simply cannot fold your hands and wait for things to occur.
You also have to understand that it's going to be a process. It's going to take progress over a period of time. The goals and dreams that you have may be dormant. They may be things that you have long since not thought of, or long since released wanting, because they are so far in the past, and maybe you don't believe they are achievable anymore.
It doesn't have to be that way and that they certainly can be brought back to life. But if they are to be brought back to life in your life for these second half success plans, you're going to have to do it by design, and you're going to have to be intentional about it.
So I'm not going to belabor the point too much, but doing nothing means you are inviting decay. You want to counter that by designing, planning and being intentional about the dreams that you have. The second half success plan goals that you have in order to counter the decay.
